That's about right. 

Also, a large segment of rural counties are self-employed ranchers and farmers.  They don't run out of work until the bank comes and takes the farm.

this has been foreseeable for some time.  i can remember thinking in 03 or 04 that we were in trouble, as i saw bush lowering interest rates at a time of geared for war production.   time to realize whether we are dems, reps, or otherwise, we are in for some bad juju.  pointing fingers isn't gonna fix it.

Interesting you say pointing fingers isn't going to fix it.  I disagree.  Identifying what set of ideas is more harmful to the country and what set of values is more helpful is the first set.  Liberalism and big government make things worse.  Helping the nation see that fact, so we can move away from it to heal is key.  Until people see that the politicians they put in office in 08 are the farthest thing from a solution we can have, there won't be any fixing of anything.
