Alex Kozinski is resigning, immediately, in the aftermath of numerous accusations of sexual harassment.
-
And on the 9th too. Excellent.
-
Heard this morning that Kozinski was the chief judge on the 9th circuit. With his resignation, does one of the other judges become the chief, or does his replacement become the new chief?
-
The ironic thing about this is that Judge Kozinski has written some of the seminal, so to speak, decisions on sexual harassment.
-
Hope the next nominee for better than Matthew Peterson.

Man, those were questions most law students could answer. Not even a softball like a motion in limine...

He shouldn't of asked them to handle his briefs.

Watching him made me cringe. Did he even pass the bar somewhere?

Three doors, back, on the left.

Kozinski was a good guy from our perspective (well, until the harassment came to light). Trump replacing him will be, at best, a wash for liberty.

Chief judge is the senior judge who has not previously served as chief. It's restricted to judges on the court who have at least a year of experience on the court, and have not yet reached age 65. It's a seven year appointment. Basically, you're still an appellate court judge, but you are also the administrative judge for the court. Looks like most chief judges take on a reduced case load so they can handle the administrative tasks of running the court.
(I cheated and looked it up.)

Sounds like he was an expert in the field.
