Wonder if they're gonna buy new buses to replace those that sat flooded (as seen from aerial views) instead of moving people out of harm's way? Not that Nagin isn't spending a lot of effort trying to sweep that little fiasco under the carpet these days...

Nagin's running for re-election. He'll say anything to get votes at this point because a large portion of his supporters are still in Houston as Antibubba pointed out. The ones that came back and have started rebuilding have realized they bought a pig in a poke when they elected him the first time and aren't interested in any of his explanations.
