DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — A retired police officer stopped a gunman who police said fired at random people during a multi-county crime spree.
Good outcome. Good use of the AR to stop the threat.
I am wondering why this wasn't national news. ;/

The man went camping and had THREE ARs with him.

Evil, they posses evil incarnate.
Well, evil in-metalandplastic-ate, at least.

I don't have a problem with the family having three ARs. You should have seen what my sons and I used to take up in the mountains or up to the Grasslands on a shooting/camping trip. Redundancy was the rule. I just hope the guy had them in the campsite/park/whatever itself legally, not that any right-minded prosecutor would have a problem with that. Trouble is, finding right-minded prosecutors is a a rare thing nowadays, even in Colorado.

The retired officer told deputies that after he thought his used all of his ammunition for his rifle, he pulled out a second AR-15 out of his truck and fired one more shot to see of Benson would react since he didn’t see any movement from him after the crash.
The best kind of a reload, a different gun. :)

One is none and two is one, so really he only had two rifles with him.

Hmmmm. I have four Ar-15s in 5.56mm. and one AR-10 style in 7.62 X 51.
I must be a super- villain.
Who da' thunk it? [tinfoil]

Do you have a furry white cat?

Are you a furry who dresses like a white cat?
-
I don't have a white cat, but I do have a furry white caterpillar:

30-caliber clips.

No. She has some white, but mostly black & brown. :)

This must be how he reloads.

it's easier to carry around an extra magazine, than to try and stuff another rifle into a hip pocket. :)

Uhhh, paralleling this case, wouldn't that make you a super good guy instead of a villain?

:laugh: :rofl:
Thanks. That gave me a very good laugh.

But...
1=0
2=1, so 2=0
so 2+1 is also = 0

My daughter started a hypothetical the other day:
"Daddy, what would you do if a grizzly tried to eat you?"
Me- "I'd shoot it"
Daughter "But what if you didn't have a gun?"
Me "How could that happen?"
Daughter "Why would you take a gun hiking?"
Me "Why wouldn't I? There might be bears."
The conversation devolved into hypotheticals involving alien technology that disintegrates all metals, (except the iron in hemoglobin, some how), Me being kicked out of the garden of Eden naked, without a gun, and immediately attacked by bears, (I'd borrow one of them awesome flaming swords), etc.... she gave up about 20 minutes later... :laugh:

Your modern math confuses and frightens me.

Why wouldn't you take a gun hiking?

For some reason, I had a mental image of AR's akimbo, with this dude clenching a cigar in his teeth while uttering pithy one-liners.

That's the advantage of common core. 2+1=5
