Improve my tone? Did you just tell me to improve my tone?

The tone is the end result of having to see that image. Remove the image, I'll improve the tone.  =D

one thing to consider is use second job to try something new.  a career field that you wonder about but never tried
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

I like the security system recommendations.  Given that you're here on APS stuff like that's probably already somewhat of a topic you're familiar with so it seems like a logical step.  Also, I agree with MrsSmith in that it would be an honorable venture.  Not that the others aren't.  Well, except for the stripper/escort stuff.

Another thought on that line of thinking is small store camera systems.  Raise your hand if you've seen grainy black and white "video" with a frame taken every 4 seconds on the news from a robbery.

Those things are pretty much worthless, especially contrasted with what you can pull off today for not much in hardware.  Cameras today are awesome, computers are cheap, storage is cheap, etc.  Rough guess but I bet you could put in a 2 camera system capturing 720p quality video at 24fps for right around a grand these days in hardware costs.  You could charge some fairly good money for putting something like that in and your electrical experience would probably help with running (or just working with existing) coax cables.

I only suggest it because I'm going to be doing this myself in the near future, and we're doing it ourself because, generally, people that want to sell you this charge WAY too much.

I'm really liking this idea. Thanks so much Hawkmoon! Now to get to researching...
