Colt is a pitiful shadow of the gun company it once was.  They seem to specialize more in filing lawsuits or defending themselves from lawsuits than in designing and building guns the public will buy.
Fortunately, they will be out of business in about 2-3 years.

Fortunately the newest Colt I own is a 1966, the other one is a 1953. I recall my dad talking about going to work for Colt during the big strike (1980s?) I told him it would be bad juju to cross the picket line. That was one time he listened to ME for a change.  smiley

Another vote for the new XD45 from Springfield. How they were able to cram the big 'ol fat 45 ACP into a gun with roughly the same dimensions and hand feel as the beautifully ergonomic XD9 is beyond me.
