In response, the congregation stood and applauded for several minutes.

A church that applauds a pastor who seems proud of having been caught in flagrante delicto is not a church I want any part of.

Yes, that's judgmental. I'm a weak person ... I do that sometimes.

That is messed up on so many levels.

Yes, God forgives all who ask it with a repentant heart.  That does not mean that he has any business as a pastor any more.  What he did is a serious betrayal of trust and one speech to say "Ooopsie, my bad" ain't gonna cut it.

Whereas I'm a busy person.

I pass judgement and move on.

The pastor is an ahole. A human ahole, but an ahole.

Judgement passed, moving on.

Now, now. If there's one thing we learned from the Clinton administration, it's that one's private sex life is irrelevant to one's job performance.

Unless one is a Republican. Then even what you say about sex makes you a monster.

IMO, making personal decisions based on known facts is not really passing false judgement.  I don't need to condemn him for his actions.  If I attended that Church, I just need to decide if I want him to continue as my pastor.  For me, continuing to listen to sermons by him would get me in trouble for false judgement.
