Not only is Dicks Sporting Goods no longer selling "assault weapons", they are destroying their current inventory of EBRs because woke or something.

So the suppliers who already made money selling those will now just have to make and sell more of them?
-
Dick's had already convinced me to never shop there again. They don't need to keep trying.

Same here. They jumped the shark many years ago.

True.

I haven't set foot in a Dick's for at least 7 years.
Enough guys! You've succeeded. I can't boycott you any more than I already am!

I miss Gaylan's Trading Post.... =( =( =(

I am going to assume they couldn't return them to the distributor. No added loss to the gun industry.

...recently the sporting goods chain also said it was destroying all the assault-style guns pulled from shelves as well as the accessories.
“We are destroying the firearms in accordance with federal guidelines and regulations,” a spokeswoman told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Sure you can; go in, load up a cart with stuff from all over the store, and leave it somewhere with a note that says "Will return when the ARs do."

When you do this, make sure it's a LOT of small items from different areas so it's a bigger PITA to restock.

Well, except then you're doing the same thing they're doing at Starbucks, where the protestors are shouting into a bullhorn two feet from the minimum wage employee's face. Wrong target.

Sports Authority pulled that BS but just with handguns a couple of years ago. Don't know if they've put them back, haven't been in there since.

Yeah; come on down here and try that. Other customers will roll morbidly-obese-butt-crack-gamer-guy over you for being even more annoying than he is.

Their stock is down 38% from a year ago. Also, based on their 5 yr stock graph, they also didn't see the huge holiday upswing like the normally do. Doesn't bode well and I'm good with that.

You're saying they're going limp?

For bonus points, hit a Dirt Cheap, Dollar Tree or something else so you can add a few items they don't carry. We used to go buy some random cheap store brand item, then smuggle it into a different store to slip into the "to be re-shelved" pile up by the registers, then wander around until the confusion got going.
Too bad HEB occasionally hires stockers smart enough to just toss Great Value items found in the bin, while WalMart stockers will wander around for an hour trying to find a spot for a can of Hill Country Fare green beans.

Their stock and sales haven’t really recovered from when they pulled this stunt last time with pulling “Assault Weapons” from the regular Ducks stores. Unfortunately most of the news media failed to either notice or report that. It was one of the first things I was curious about and went and looked up.
