One of the main obstructions to meaningful action is "modern democracy", he added. "Even the best democracies agree that when a major war approaches, democracy must be put on hold for the time being. I have a feeling that climate change may be an issue as severe as a war. It may be necessary to put democracy on hold for a while."
I know some doubted that this is really the motivation behind "Climate Change". What about now?
*That should be democracy in the title btw. As far as I know, the Bovine Republic is still safe.

Two selections of brilliant dumb-ness. I mean, you've got to be a genius to come up with such studied idiocy.
"I don't think we're yet evolved to the point where we're clever enough to handle a complex a situation as climate change," said Lovelock in his first in-depth interview since the theft of the UEA emails last November. "The inertia of humans is so huge that you can't really do anything meaningful."
Then what's the point of "putting democracy on hold," there, professor? You got some non-humans to run things for us? ???
Fudging the data in any way whatsoever is quite literally a sin against the holy ghost of science,

'Professor' is equivalent to the 'n' word unless applied to a purveyor of digital video.

That's right, vp. I set 'em up, you knock 'em down.

Don't trust him: he's a dead (almost) white guy.

I seem to recall that Great Britain (A Constitutional Monarchy) dumped a sitting Prime Minister (who had been sold a bill of goods at Munich), for a much better one, with a major war approaching. I'm sure that there are other examples, but this one will suffice......
The US (A Federal Republic) held their regularly schedule elections in 1864, 1944, 1952, 1968, 1972, 2004, and 2008, all while the US was actively engaged in wars/foreign adventures.....
Rome and the Greeks, IIRC, were about the only Democracies that put an Dictator in power when under threat of war.....
Oh, that's one reason why the Founding Fathers looked at "Pure Democracies"(Greeks and Romans) and put together a Federal Republic.
