British Silent Prayer Lady
« on: October 27, 2023, 08:02:17 AM »
She's back in the news again, for standing in one place in a public space and not saying anything. She's getting to be the UK version of the Colorado baker.

That cop reading the thought police script was at first funny to me, but it's actually kinda scary.

England is doing a pretty terrible job at being an official "Christian" nation.

They're doing a great job of reminding me that just because they speak a similar language and share a lot of history and culture with us doesn't mean they're a free country.

Aldus Huxley and George Orwell just had their timing a bit off, that's all.

I've read some about Orwell's socialist beliefs.

You all might want to read "The Lion and the Unicorn: Socialism and the English Genius".

While anti-communist and pro-free speech, Orwell's vision for England was a nasty socialism of executions of "traitors" and no economic freedom.

That first policewoman was positively scary.

Does anyone know what the English law actually says? It sounds like it prohibits "protesting" within the exclusion zones. The policewoman asked praying woman if she was protesting, praying woman said (multiple times) that she was NOT protesting, so they then arrested her for protesting.

The British needed a law like that back pre-Revolution. Just imagine if a Redcoat patrol had found some Bostonian's skulking around the harbor.

"Right. What are you lot doing around here in the middle of the night?"

"Nothing, Sir. We're just standing here. We're not even thinking of dumping all the tea on that ship into the harbor."

"Alright, then. Off to gaol with the lot of you."

No revolution. We would all be subject of King Chuck today.
