This is the one where a pseudoscience academic published a journal article (presumably peer-reviewed) about her deceased kitty cat, and how they transcended the human-centered construction of species. Or something. The deceased, and another cat, were listed as co-authors.

We are clearly at that same stage in which Caligula made his horse a consul, or a priest, depending on the source. I can only hope this sort of thing helps to discredit these scam artists.

HEY! I LIKE cats! They have souls! They also have claws! And they PURR! Which is more than I can say about dogs ... I mean the purr thing, yea dogs have claws too....BUT THEY'RE NOT RETRACTABLE!
As far as putting horses on senate commitees, I think I'm about ready to see if they might be able to actually get stuff done up there in the swamp .... especially if they'd work in harness..... [popcorn]

That's a strange thing about cats. They're always snoring, and people think it's cute.

Purring is cute. [popcorn]
Cats do not snore. Sneeze, occasionally, yea, but they do not snore.

Unless you've displeased them. Then they don't.

Cats love their humans too. But they won't return what they're not first given.
They will play with you, if you play with them.
Cat's owners are smarter and do not get trapped. >:D
Cats do not help disabled people. They disable people. If they're Bengal Tigers they do worse. >:D
Cats AREN'T great hunters? What planet are you on?
OK...There are "cat" people and "dog" people. Actually I like dogs too. Labs, German Shepards, Alsations .... big real dogs, not poodles, lap dogs, yappers, pomeranian, and pink fuzzy types with bows. Those I don't like.
But I sorta just have a preference for keeping a cat when it comes to housepets.
You don't have to walk 'em! =D

Fixed.

Had many of both. No prejudice one way or the other. However, consistent observation of both over many decades indicates that cats are basically citizens, dogs are basically subjects.

They lie there making guttural noises all day long. You're saying that's not snoring? :P
We had a great cat when I was a kid. He roamed the neighborhood, devouring small fauna. He wouldn't let us have other cats, though. Every time we tried, they disappeared...

Cat's do not abide by the laws of nature.

We have a cat lady near us. Two of her cats patrol our yard. We have 1.5 acres that goes downhill to a wooden fence. All pretty much open except for the side yard vegetation and trees and along the fence which I let go wild. Fun to watch those cats move around.
Swmbo has a couple ceramic, life like birds that sit on the deck and on a terrace where I have vines and flowers. I've seen both cats stalk the ceramic birds and I saw one actually poune on one. He/she was surprised and that was funny. The other ceramic bird has been knocked over a couple times, so I suspect one of those two cats pounced on that one too.

Just read the twitter posts.
What in the world? If this is what was written down, imagine what this persons day to day "living-dying" life is like.

Actually, cats DO obey the laws of nature.
The problem is, they follow the laws of nature as depicted in STAR WARS movies. [popcorn]

Schrodinger's doesn't.

HEY! I LIKE cats! They have souls!
It really depends on the cat. Some only have one or two, while others have stolen dozens of them.

Schrodinger's doesn't.
Well that depends on when you look doesn't it?

If you like cats, that is fine by me. I can also understand being emotional about the loss of a pet. The writer seems to be taking it a bit further, but I think the writer started out a bit further out there.

Here's how they get their souls:
