to try to consolidate the establishment voters. (http://www.armedpolitesociety.com/index.php?topic=50922.msg1038029#msg1038029)
I will not vote for Rubio. I'll vote for Sanders first because he's honest about his aims and I'm not going to reward the establishment for trying to stab the base in the back.
A nice seque into a new thread featuring an epic rant.
A "Larry Correia approved" epic rant.
Dear Establishment, I blame you. (http://thelibertyzone.com/2016/02/24/dear-establishment-i-blame-you/)
Dear Republican and Democrat establishments,
By this time you’re probably wondering what the hell is happening to that nice little world you’ve created for yourselves. The Hairy Hemorrhoidâ„¢ and the Septuagenarian Socialist are putting a spike the size of a cricket bat into the tires of your 2016 campaign buses, and you are spinning ferociously in your seats like ferrets on speed, trying to catch up.
What the hell happened?
Well you need to look no further than your mirrors, and not the funhouse ones that give you that warped view of yourselves, either. Take a long, hard look at what’s going on, because you are the ones who created the deranged monstrosity we’re seeing in the primaries of both parties today!.....
Click through, read and enjoy.

Saw that linked on FB. It was an awesome rant.

It is a sad statement that I'd vote for Sanders before I'd see Trump in office. Sanders would damage our economy and pack the courts with socialists... And still cause less damage than Trump.
-
Trump or bernie?
I'm voting SMOD.

You gotta be joking. Electing Bernie is the international equivalent of taping a "Kick Nuke Me" sign to America's back. Electing Trump is akin to wearing that knit cap Jayne's mom sent him:
Nation elects a man like that, other countries know they're not afraid of anything.
'Course the country takes the risk of Jayne Trump selling us out to the feds...

Aside from claiming he doesn't like illegal immigration, what exactly is ANY actual redeeming quality of the man?
Dude bemoans corporations moving US jobs overseas, and then does the same thing. His clothing line is made overseas. His resorts apparently use the hell out of temporary work-visa programs to bring in foreign workers. He claims government using its power of eminent domain to violate the property rights of it citizens, then when he tried using the same thing for personal profit. He supported the AWB. He wants a single payer healthcare system like Canada, which puts him left of Hillary Clinton. Who he regularly donated money to. Hilarious part is he's cut checks to the Dems for at least 20x the amount he's given to Republicans.

Hatefacts!
Trump is play acting like a Pro Wrestler. I'm not sure how much of any of what he says is true.
Hell, Bob Dole prefers him over Cruz! What does Bob know we don't? (or don't want to see, willingly ignorant).

You forgot that he supports using lawsuits and the threat of lawsuits to get his way whether he would win the lawsuit or not. He has even threatened to sue other candidates during this campaign.

Trump's business savvy sensed a market. A market of fed up, lied to, disenfranchised conservative voters. He threw together some weakly constructed talking points which have taken wing with his target group. Unfortunately that target group is revealing their lack of critical thinking skills and knowledge of historical examples of charasmatic leaders taking advantage of an exasperated populus.
The best thing I ever learned in high school government class was "The job of President of the United States pays poorly and severly ages each person who holds its title. Thousands of people all over the world want to kill him. He and his family perpetually live under armed guard. The only reason a man would consider the position is for the power."
Now, examine Trump's history, the New York facts, not the Hollywood hype.
Finally ask yourself what Trump really wants,to do with that power, and how he might apply it.
He's a dangerous choice.

Ann Coulter's take on why Trump is doing so well. (http://www.vdare.com/articles/gop-strategists-dont-get-it-about-trump-victories-its-the-immigration-stupid)

It's quite simple. Trump supporters are so desperate to "SHOW THE ESTABLISHMENT!!!!" and make a "STATEMENT!!!!!" that they're blind to the fact that they're supporting an unstable, statist *expletive deleted*ing weirdo.

I'll have some cheese to go with all that whine, thanks.

I've spoken with the crew at Merriam-Websters and the blokes from Oxford, and they've agreed, per roo_ster's whim, to change the definition of "whine." It now reads something like, "to present an opposing viewpoint."
You're welcome.

I'm not whining. Trump's supporters have almost nothing of substance to offer in his favor, besides him being "anti-establishment" (which is effing hilarious, btw. How delusional do you have to be to call Trump anti-establishment), and "HE SAYS WHAT HE MEANS" (How that alone is a plus, is beyond me.)
Of course, calling someone who disagrees with you a whiner is completely consistent with the Trump mindset, so there's that
The party of limited government is electing a complete statist, who supports the abuse of eminent domain, supports national healthcare, supports private businesses being forced to break their own products, gives zero *expletive deleted*s about the constitution, and seems to have no redeeming qualities besides being a loudmouth and being able to avoid a question by telling someone they have a beautiful hat.
On the plus side, him winning the nomination will hasten the destruction of the GOP, so that's fine.
Here's what will happen. Trump WILL self destruct. Hopefully before he gets the nomination, but most likely after.
Hill-dawg will win.
THAT's when the whining begins. Then it will be "omg all those Libertarian voters" or "OMG you didn't vote, you handed Hillary the victory"
Seems to be quite common lately. GOP puts a turd in front of us, and then when some of us decide not to drink the turd-aid, later we're blamed. Happens quite frequently, not only at the national level, but state/local as well.

This so *expletive deleted*ing much. Trumps stances are not secret or unknown. He's *expletive deleted*ing proud to be a statist
-
If Cruz doesn't get the nomination, I'm voting for Putin.
Might as well get it over with quickly.....

Trump supporters are so desperate to eek out a win that they literally don't care. The sad part is, there's no way trump doesn't torpedo himself eventually

Maybe Trump wins, has Cruz or Rubio as the VP and then decides to resign.

That's the hilarious part.
"He's Anti-Establishment and will blow up the GOP."

He is the establishment. He will curl up with the beltway insiders and the GOPe and we'll have Obama's third term. As has been pointed out, his previous statements and actions prove that he is not a conservative (neither a so-con or fis-con) and is not hesitant to use the power of government to get his way.
He is a New York liberal who is pro-abortion, anti-2A, and pro-big government. If he's a conservative, I'm the queen of England...
-

People keep saying that...

Don't worry it will be after he secures the nomination, thus delivering the presidency to his good pal Hillary.

Meh. If nothing else, he's showing the GOP that they can do better with brash honesty and spine than they can with milquetoast.

The party of limited government...
Which one would that be?
I'm not whining.
Well, "caps-lock eleventy-raging while making unsubstantiated, foul-mouthed, and impolite accusations of desperation and blindness" is hard to rope into a cheese quip.
So, I'll take it, and the cheese, back.
Don't worry it will be after he secures the nomination, thus delivering the presidency to his good pal Hillary.
Maximum HILarity:
Both Trump and Hill implode after getting their party's nod, leaving the contest for POTUS between whomever both chose as their running mate. "War of the Midgets" "The Battle of Second Bananas"

Nope! Unfortunately Cruz isn't charismatic.
I'm voting for him, and I am disgusted with Republicans voting for this Trump sleazebag.

Your vote. Cast it for who you want. You do realize that Cruz is peddling the same *expletive deleted*it, and relying on "useful" folks to support it. Just like all the others.

The only difference between the parties is which cheek of the horse's ass they are.

<<snip>>
Trump doesn't "say what he means." He says what his audience wants to hear. That's what makes him so successful; he'll say absolutely anything to get the crowd on his side. Even if what today's crowd wants to hear is exactly the opposite of what he told yesterday's crowd.

So, pretty much the ideal target voters for every successful candidate in living memory.
I was thinking specifically of a sucessful German candidate's target voting bloc approximately 90 years ago.

As some other pundit observed, the voters are now willing to bite the hand that slapped them.
Why Trump? Name recognition, and an attitude among voters that says "Trump may be an <expletive>, but he's not YOUR <expletive>."

well, actually he is their *expletive deleted*hole.
But that doesn't matter. The thing about Trump is not what he is, but how he's figured out what the masses what to hear and he's giving it too them. Obama did it, too (and Bernie is doing it as well, although I think he's actually stupid enough to believe his own patter)
The GOP has it's head in the sand. So does the DNC. Save the popcorn for the next election cycle, because it will be interesting to see if they end up learning something from this cluster *expletive deleted*ck or not.*
*if we actually make it to another election cycle...

Supposedly, the republican party. People all over who claim to dislike "government" in their lives are supporting a statist. This is objective fact.
As for the rest, Wasn't raging, wasn't all in caps, and although foul-mouthed, it certainly isn't unsubstantiated. if my language hurts your poor widdwe feelings, I can adjust.
-
I can't help but wonder if Trump's run for the nomination is really a way for him to jam a thumb in the eye of the Republican party. He wins the nomination, loses the general to HRC, and the next day we hear Trump do his best Nelson imitation "Ha, ha!" to the Republican leadership as he wanders back home to run his businesses. Mission accomplished.
Historically there has been no love lost between them.

They haven't learned over the past 20 years or so, why should they now?
