It all started when I crashed on the right side some months ago. I replaced the pipe and turn signals easily enough, and got a new K&N filter for my Forcewinder intake. But I had a hard time sourcing the original Forcewinder-type filter with a "pointy end" and ended up with something with a much broader, flatter nose. No biggie, it flows more air than the Forcewinder original intake.

After much debate about what to do with that odd space, I ended up with:

This bike also has a really weird exhaust setup: KT Engineering race pipe, but with a Supertrapp muffler out of an automotive catalog:
