I love to read and one of my guilty pleasures is a series a friend's wife turned me on to a few years back - the Stephanie Plum novels from Janet Evanovich. They are a great read - fast, engaging, and the characters are right out of real life (if you live in Jersey), but with all the daily toils and troubles turned to the amusing rather than the dramatic. Not comedic, mind you. Just a sarcastically amusing turn to them. They are a real hoot to read and I can't recommend them enough. Heck, a friend of mine who's never gotten through anything longer than the instructions for her VCR is now WAYYYYY into the series at my urging.
The first movie is due out in July of this year. Yay! Gotta see it.
Now if they would just make a "Reacher" movie...
