The NOAA/NWS site is the best I have found for my uses- clean and uncluttered. Decent radar. Nothing you don't need, like the crap that weather.com loves. Not pretty, not slick like the commercialized sites. But one of the very few things the .gov gets right. I use it both for casual wx checking and flight planning.

I have the Accuweather ext. for FF and am not impressed. Not very accurate and pretty slow on results.

Me too.

I am now trying the "Pro Weather" desktop gadget for Windows 7 and so far it's pretty slick, as well as responsive.

Also me too, now that you brought it up.  It's not as pretty as the standard Win7 weather gadget, but I'll give it a try.

Here's something weird.

It seems like other people use weather sites to look at the map.  Those don't tell me anything.  I want a written forecast, hopefully with pictures (faster than reading).  A bunch of white stuff moving around on a map just doesn't tell me much of anything.

Conversely, it seems like most folks I know use MapQuest-type sites to get directions.  Screw that.  Give me a map; I'll plot my own route.

I can tell what's going on with a radar picture better.

On the driving directions, I use both methods to plot/check a route.

i just saw this. i just thought you might like to know google maps lets you do both. put in the to and from addresses and you can drag the route to where you want go. =D some days i wish my garmin would do that, but then i remember it would take 30 minutes to do it because it's so slow.

from a walmart to the same walmart. =D
