I kind of chuckled at RocketMan's statement.

I laughed out loud on this one, though.
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

AN/VRC-114 start up self test completed. No fault.
SECNET 54 crypto reset.
KU Band antenna powercycled
KU Band antenna start up self test completed. No fault.
AN/VRC-114 connected to net.
No further faults found.
1 man hour.

Turned it off, then back on.

On the original question, it depends. The .gov I work for has been trying to expunge XP with a vengeance. If an agency we support insists they need it for some outdated app, they have to document it, get a security exception, and officially own the fact that if they get infected we will block their asses from the network and will not let them bring it back online.
