I recently read (recently? Well, in the past 2 years, I think)
Endurance, a recount of the amazing failed antarctic expedition of Sir Ernest Shackleton.
To say the least, I came away with a hearty respect for the man. (Note: read the book. You'll be amazed, too.)
Thanks to digitization, the Royal Geographic Society was able to identify the books on his bookshelf aboard the Endurance. (Also the name of his ship.)
