Title: Good web sites..
Post by: Guest on September 01, 2006, 03:40:37 PM
Ok, untypically, I'm bored..kiddo is gone, housework is mostly done, it's been raining all day, don't feel like getting off my butt and don't feel like reading a book or sewing or any of my standard indoor things.

So..time to learn something new..give me some educational websites..I don't care what they're about, just something interesting. I did look at an Arabic language page and that's ok, but I think tapes are better.

Don't know that it's really educational, but Tricks of the Trade has some fun & interesting tips, tricks, and personal insight.

Oh yeah, even though you have to take some of it with a grain of salt... there's always Wikipedia.  I can get lost there for hours at a time, and if you're feeling gamey you can try accessing the main portal: http://www.wikipedia.org/ and try it in one of about 85 other languages.

Pulling out of my bookmark list...

How stuff works

Don't know if this is your thing, but an Anarchist's Cookbook type site

That's most of what I have for 'educational' stuff.

http://www.corneredcat.com is Pax's website on women's CCW issues.

This is more information on old jeeps than you could imagine. (I don't know, you're bored. I'm just tossing out ideas. Tongue)

You could always start digging into your family history: http://www.ancestry.com
