Check with your local PD.  They might give you a deal on one of the several they bought for their new SWAT unit.  They only paid $25.00 apiece for them. :police:

Why would that cost $250K?

Yeah ... I would rather have an old M-715 like RKL.

I don't see anyplace on that thing  to haul firewood or fenceposts or hay  =(

They do make a barge wagon you can pull behind a tractor for the fire wood and a hayrack for the hay.

Even has a hydraulic dump bed

Wagon designed for moving hay. You can take the rack off and put a gravity body on it and haul grain with it.

Not every vehicle is designed for hermits living off the grid.

You really have no clue about getting something into tight places in the woods, do you?  The goal is not to have to carry the blocks of wood a longs ways to the vehicle.  Really, if I had a larger tractor with a 3-pt, I would build an arch/grapple for it and just skid whole trees down to a processing site.

And I really don't know what the use case for the original vehicle above would be  =|

Well obviously the damn thing isn't for you, then.  I think we get that.

It's not for a lot of people I reckon, but it seems that I am no longer allowed to say that  ;/

It's an odd vehicle.
It looks like something that the desert racers' builders would make to pay the bills. The truly talented pirate 4x4 people.
At first I thought it was just a JK8 with a GM diesel for some reason.
Using a GM 6.5(out of production for over a decade) with a 4l80e would seem to be an odd choice.Any Humvee mechanics should have no problems with it but it's not terribly powerful and it is late seventies tech.
The 6.6 is,in some ways,an even odder choice. The Isuzu V8 is bigger, heavier(a couple of hundred pounds IIRC),gets worse fuel economy and is vastly more complicated. The six speed Allison is a good trans-no qualms there.
The dash isn't impressive.Three different gauge manufacturers for common gauges.Generic knobs and switches all labeled with a Dymo.It looks like the builder went to NAPA,they didn't have everything,so then they want to Autozone and got the rest.
The interior appointments(seats,GM steering column, drag race/offroad shifter, the t-case twin stick)all look like current build up parts for a good trail rig.
IIRC,Dynatrac is out of Utah as well. The front is a Dana designed axle,I'd bet the rear was too.

I'm still curious about the frame though. That lh front corner that's visible looks like a Jeep JK.It doesn't make sense with the GM engines though.Cornfused. ???

You mentioned moving hay also, unless something has changed in hay storage, I'm pretty sure you don't store hay in the woods.

You can do like all the wood cutters where I live, they use a 20-30 year old pickup truck to gather wood from the timber.

I'm guessing the exclusivity.

It should be noted that the buyer of this vehicle will possess the only privately owned ELSORV in the world.

The armor protection leaves me less than impressed:

Quote
Armored cab and bullet proof windows are rated for 7.62x39 FMJ.

For a quarter million, I would expect to be protected from 7.62x54R at least.

(ETA: a semi-serious question: how far can that thing go on one tank of fuel?)

Says 375 miles on the standard tanks, but extended range tanks are available.

I don't see anyplace on that thing  to haul firewood or fenceposts or hay  =(

Fence posts or hay are not a consideration.

Why would that cost $250K?

It shouldn't.

Needs moar pintle mounted Machine Guns.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.
