At least they put an American citizen on the dollar coin this time, rather than Sacajewia.

I do hope that was sarcasm, being that her people were here first and all...
1. Her people were nomadic stone-aged tribesmen among a multitude of nomadic stone-aged tribes.  Her folks displaced others to be where they were when Lewis & Clark stumbled upon them.  What about THOSE poor saps?  When will Sacajewia's people pay for THEIR crimes of genocide and displacement?
2. Sacajewia was never an American citizen and the likelihood that she considered herself an American (or even had a grasp on the concept) is unlikely.
3. There are non-American citizens I would have no trouble gracing our dollar coins.  Lafayette, for example.

I nominate Shakira.  But I want her on a bill, in full color, lengthwise. Smiley

I'd like to see her on a coin - both the heads and "tails" side.  smiley

I like the idea.  They weren't designed to circulate...they are instant savings.

I also like the idea of tipping "dancers" with them...unfortunately, they usually aren't thrilled about the idea.  Garter my butt.

Why they won't catch on?

two words: not garter friendly

If you aren't on the meatrack and toss one up on stage when she zigs instead of zags?

-bang- somebody's got a chipped tooth.

Spike heel comes down on top of one during a pivot?  Acrylic stage, oil, little metal disk?  That's a recipe for a twisted ankle or worse.

Won't someone think of the strippers

I thought of the strippers once when I had a pocketful of those coins. I gave them as tips grin Course the girl knew me in real life and took it for the joke that it was.... considering she worked at a bank during the day.

The only way I could make money off my body is by selling kidneys and such.  sad

No such thing as "intrinsic value"?  That's a losing vote if ever there were one. Cheesy  As long as there is a concept of "money" as a medium of exchange, there will be intrinsic value.

Scapegoat, check this out:  http://www.quackwatch.org/11Ind/brinkley.html  And/or do a Google for "goat gland doctor".  It's a hoot.

You are all wrong. The new dollar coins won't fly because they have too high of a mass and too poor of an aerodynamic drag coefficient, along with being completely unpowered.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

I keep thinking about a certain adult show in Okinawa, with a stack of coins on top of a bottle on the stage...

She got to keep the coins, I didn't want them back.   shocked
