Title: Email receipt from Square
Post by: Ron on March 08, 2019, 10:38:00 AM
Yesterday a coworker and I went to the indoor climbing gym and then grabbed lunch afterword.

We were both shocked to receive unsolicited email receipts.

I followed some links in the email but cannot determine when or how I signed up with them or how I signed away that privacy.

Neither of us have ever received an email receipt like this, she was just as surprised as I was.

All we did was use our debit cards, no other action on our part.

What’s the lowdown on this? Anyone here that can shed some light?

You may have used a Square product at another vendor/business and wasn't aware of it.  If you did, that credit card is forever linked to you.  If you never have, then blame Google, Facebook, or Marco Rubio.

Don't some credit card companies set it up so receipts are auto-sent to the email the CC company has on file?

Anyone else like to have fun with the signature on Square? This was my signature the other night.

Vertical Endeavors in Glendale Heights ?

That’s where we climbed but the email receipt was from El Famous Burrito.

I bet it was either Home Depot or Nancy’s Pizza, the pizza place uses a service for placing online orders.

It’s all in the small print I’m sure.
