CNN Suspends Chris Cuomo Indefinitely

Apparently what he told his employers he was doing for his brother and what he was actually doing for his brother were.... different. A LOT different.

One juicy tidbit... he was apparently using his connections in the industry to attempt to find the identity of those who accused his brother of sexual impropriety...

"Transcripts from his interview with investigators show the CNN star admitting he would reach out to media sources to find out about new accusers who have yet to come forward publicly."

And he lied about it...

"Cuomo's admission contradicts what he told CNN viewers in August when he claimed, "I never made calls to the press about my brother's situation."

My guess, though?

He'll be hailed a progressive hero and promoted.

Two different things...

The latter, of course. The wiener whacker at CNN was also "suspended indefinitely" and then brought back. Gym boy will be taken care of.

Though I did see the guy in charge of whoever is taking CNN over was talking about reformatting them back to where they were in the 80s. That would be interesting. They'd have to fire pretty much all of their major personalities to get to any semblance of "just the news".

Where would CNN find replacements for the folks they fired that are actually willing and capable of just reporting the news?  Do "journalists" like that actually exist anymore?

Getting rid of their talking heads would save them a boat load of money.  None of them bring in enough ratings to justify their pay. 

They could just find some unknowns from the local news outlets to come on board.  I have no idea about the production side of things.  I would rather see amateurs doing news than some of these slick talking liars.  (I watch a lot of youtubers instead of TV)

So that means they can suspend him on the 31st of the month and lift the suspension on the 32nd.

Just came here to post it. Flashed up on my phone's news feed.

To be perfectly honest, I'm more than a little shocked that CNN actually did this. Not because he definitely deserved it for incredible breaches in journalistic ethics, but because CNN generally doesn't seem to give a three-fingered flying *expletive deleted*ck about ethics... unless they're accusing a Conservative of ethical breaches.

Thinking about this today. As big of an asshat he was plus he sucked at his job, did he only have the job because of his brother? That ship sailed and they found an easy out that they think makes CNN looks good?

And another news story popped across my phone that Fox News absolutely CRUSHED CNN and MSNBC in the ratings wars again.

Given that Chris Cuomo was supposedly the most popular show on CNN...

It's pretty evident that, in their minds, he's still president. Especially for MSNBC.

2 of the front page MSNBC blogs, including Maddow's, are specifically about Trump.

Oh, and MSNBC has, FINALLY, acknowledged the fact that CNN canned Cuomo's ass. And it's a video blog/opinion, not a news article.


You know, it just occurred to me...

MSNBC's "news" site is virtually bereft of any news at all. CNN at least has news content. About as much as Fox does.

But MSNBC? Virtually NO news content. It's all screeding opinions about horrible right wing people wanting to deny the people's right to kill the unborn, wanting to preserve the people's right to kill criminals, how gun crime is an evil right wing terror plot, etc.

And they accused Fox new of being a dog whistle.
