However, now I am asked to cast a vote on Dec. 19 for someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office.

IMO, since the election Trump has shown why people voted for him and seems to be on track to do a lot of what he said he would do.  

I believe electors should unify behind a Republican alternative, an honorable and qualified man or woman such as Gov. John Kasich of Ohio. I pray my fellow electors will do their job and join with me in discovering who that person should be.

  After sifting through all the BS, this appears at the end.  IMO, it just shows he doesn't like Trump and that is all there is to it.

I heard on the radio that his reason was Trump was mean to the SNL cast. 

Mr. Trump goes out of his way to attack the cast of “Saturday Night Live” for bias.

Well, theoretically, that's one of the points of the electoral college. To be a check against the masses voting themselves tyranny. In reality, that's long been hamstrung by some states criminalizing faithless electors. Though I don't think SCOTUS has ever weighed in on it.

Really, my thought on this is "If the crime is worth the time, then do it".  If I think that Trump NOT becoming president is worth spending the next 4 years in prison(as an example), then I can do it.  It just needs to be a very good reason.

One of Connecticut's congressional brain trust wants the electoral college to bypass Trump and vote Hilary in as President. According to him, this is why the electoral college was created. He says he read it in the Federalist Papers. One has to wonder how these people get elected to anything more challenging than janitor.

So far Trump has done nothing but delight me since the election, so all is not lost.

Unless Trump surprises me (and, given his cabinet picks, I'm now admitting that's a good possibility), ALL of those choices are superior to the ones we had this year.
