What if they are lactose intolerant?
There are actually likely a lot of things that are better for dehydration than straight water. With dehydration you need to replenish not only fluid, but often electrolytes, and there are lots of natural drinks that have electrolytes that water doesn't have. One of the things we used to use for dehydration cramps when I was on the training staff in college was regular orange juice cut 50/50 with water. Our trainer felt it was better than gatorade for that purpose.
