Yes, it will (potentially) disqualify them, because voting has never been about a simple comparison of platform positions. Character is important in a candidate for its own sake, and because the platform is worse than useless if the candidate lacks the integrity to stand by it. Now you may not think that being naughty in public has any connection to a person's overall character, but some people think otherwise.
To ask what I, personally, would do if a Republican candidate was in this position is to miss the point. It's not about me; it's about what her constituents are likely to think. I'm just sayin, is all.
Actually, you could just ask me about Scott Brown, who had some embarrassing photos come to light last year. I reserve the right to think less of him for being a mimbo, but I would have likely voted for him. Then again, I think Democratic politicians are basically *Godwin deleted*, so it's more of a vote against them.
