I've seen the winged jetpack guy, but never knew about the human flying squirrels until someone pointed me to this video.   :O

I saw this on LawDog's blog and the song has been an earworm for awhile now.  Anyone know the title and artist.....

And yeah, that's cool as hell..... =D
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Ah, yes, the birdmen.

Last I heard (which was a couple of years ago) a feller by the name of Jeb Corliss is planning on landing one of them.  They can get about 75mph forward speed and 35mph downward speed in the most advanced suits out there.  The trick to landing one is they'll need a custom made ski-jump to pull it off.  I guess the idea is to glide on their chest with some kind of protector plate/skis there.

I could be wrong about their plan.  It's been a while.

I'm almost positive he's working, or at least he's talking to Loic Jean-Albert.  Video went around a few years ago of him skimming a mountain that met his descent rate perfectly.  He's 10-15 feet above the slope for what looks like almost 100 yards.  Here's the YouTube video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmZyB_ghpa0

I think the Jetman.com guy crossed the English Channel. Someone started a thread about it a while back.

A German company built something similar they are marketing to the military for paratrooper use. Hence the room for weapons and gear.
