On 14 August I dropped off an Amazon return with the UPS Store near my office. It was the boots that Amazon sent me instead of the light bulbs that I actually ordered.
I have my receipt and tracking number. Noticed the other day that I've not heard anything about my return or refund, so I ran the tracking number through the UPS system.
According to them, it has never been picked up. It's still sitting in the store in Oakton.
I have a very funny feeling that no, it's not sitting in the store in Oakton. My gut tells me that it's actually been stolen because what I was returning was a pretty nice pair of women's boots.
I suspect someone saw the chance at a free gift for someone in their life.

Do you have the scan receipt that shows it was in UPS custody?

I have the receipt from the UPS store, yes.

I had a similar situation with a return not being processed.
Got on the customer support chat and had it resolved in about five minutes.

If your local store is like mine, I think they hold all the returns until they can fill a return container. Combine a bunch of item returns into a single large freight shipment. At least that's what I've heard, though without any kind of confirmation.
