Following the Florida Senate race
« on: September 17, 2010, 12:34:43 PM »
I've been following the senate race in Florida because this was one of the earliest indications of the power of the Tea Party.

Marco Rubio was encouraged not to run in favor of the establishment's pick, Governor Charlie Crist.

Marco came from 40+ points down to leading by so much Charlie Crist dropped out of the primary and, subsequently, the Republican Party.

Since then, he's become the most flip-flopping, sleazy, unprincipled politician I can remember in my (albeit 32 year) lifetime in his "Independent" bid for the Florida Senate seat.

As such, I will take almost as much pleasure in watching him lose as I will Harry Reid.

Today's news is smile-inducing:

Apparently we have yet to plumb the depths of his sleaze...
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

Oh yeah.  Between Crist, Murky, and Specter it's gonna be a fun election night.

Add in the sour grapes from Castle, Bennett and probably a couple more than I'm forgetting right now and it'll be even sweeter come Nov 3.

What we're seeing is that the GOP patricians really are out of touch with the GOP base, and have a habit of  supporting some, well, bad choices.

* NY23 last year - they pick Scozzafava to run in a special election. When she realizes the voters don't like her, she later drops out and endorses the Democrat! The Dem won by just over 2 points.

* Arlen Spector, changes parties because he figured he'd lose the GOP primary. Surprise - the Dems didn't like you either. Yet this backstabbing RINO was supported by GOP patricians for years.

* Mike Castle gets trounced in DE - blames the "LIES!" of Hannity, Limbaugh, etc. Doesn't even have enough class to congratulate Christine O'Donnell. What a sore loser.

* Crist in Florida - the only reason he's running is to try to split the GOP vote and throw the election to the Democrat, rather than Rubio, his more-conservative GOP opponent.

* Ditto for Murkowski, another sore loser who wants to run a write-in campaign . . .  THAT looks like pure, petty, vindictiveness.

I think there are a lot of GOP patricians - RINOs all - who are aghast that the uppity plebes aren't doing as they're told in the voting booth . . .

I love it.    =D

Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.
