Democratic Underground offline...
« on: November 09, 2016, 07:06:29 AM »
Here's the message that's up right now...

False flag because they knew what was coming?

"Around 4:30pm on Tuesday November 8, Democratic Underground was hacked, apparently by a supporter of Donald Trump. This person clearly knew what they were doing, and despite our best efforts we have not yet been able to resolve the issues caused by the hack.

We do not believe that any member data has been compromised. And we are confident that donor data has not been compromised because that information is handled by PayPal and never passes through to our servers.  But at this time we are unable to bring our discussion forum online.

The hack was clearly aimed to cause maximum disruption on our busiest night of the year, and we deeply regret that we won't be able to spend election night with our great community of members. We ask for your patience while we continue to work to fix this problem, and while we do not have a time frame we will do our best to get DU back online as soon as possible."

Exactly. DU is Republican center for schadenfreude today. Most of us probably want DU up and running more than the site owners do.

Its not even the Russians anymore, we have come back to evil republicans and the vast right wing conspiracy.
What we have here is failure to communicate.

Here's what was playing on their site looped until they took it all down.

The hacker also renamed all their thread titles in the database to "God Emperor Trump."

I'm guessing it was a 4Channer/Alt-Right type.
I promise not to duck.

I believe I've said those exact words several times today already. Though I used "ecstatic".

In my Schadenfreude reading of 538 blog today, I ran across this gem about Trump:

Quote
What's truly scary is that there are people in America who are capable of using a computer, but also so ignorant as to think that any one man is capable of effecting change to the degree you seem to think possible. Being PotUS is NOTHING like being a CEO, and that's all Trump knows how to be. Washington -- the "swamp" that you think he could drain -- will swallow him whole.

Yeah, it really sucks when half the country is taken in by a charlatan who tells people what they want to hear and let them make up their own ideas of what he really means and his greatest substance seems to really only be a soundbite like "Hope and Change!", huh?
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

I'm convinced that many Democrats are fine with voter fraud because they are certain that all those people who don't usually vote would actually vote for Democrats, so voter fraud is just representing the will of the non-voters.

And then they actually show up to vote and the Democrats get mad because they didn't vote the right way.

I picked up on that. I'd like to ask her who the "right" people are, but I know what the answer would be: "People who agree with me." That's not how it works. If you want to promote unity and equality, you don't do it by whining that "the wrong people" voted.

I liked [self=perceived] Victim #3, Liza Jane Richey at 1:12:

Quote
For me it's just a lot of hurt and sadness and fear. And the fear's really weird, 'cause I don't think a lot of people -- me, personally -- didn't even, didn't even take the time to imagine a Trump America. I was like 'That's just a ... I don't even need to waste my energy to imagine that.' And the more it was coming in that Trump was winning, it just felt ... insane. And I was like, you know, to be a woman right now is scary and I was thinking back to personal events in my own life and it's like I don't ... I don't know what's going to happen, and ... to be a black woman [which she is not], to be a Hispanic woman [which she is not], to be a Muslim woman [which she does not appear to be], like ... there's just a lot of fear, and it's like making me think, like, what ... what can I do, what can anyone do right now?

So why, exactly, should a woman ... any woman ... suddenly feel MORE afraid because Donald Trump has been elected President? Do they really not understand that Bill Clinton was a far worse sexual predator than Donald Trump ever dreamed of being? Do they think that President Trump is going to issue get-out-of-jail cards to rapists in the streets?

They ... really ... are ... ZOMBIES!

Accusations are cheap.  Defense is expensive.

All they have to do is make the speculation and it will be carried forth throughout the lamebrain liberal bee hive as if it were fact.
