The document was emailed by Maya Shankar, a White House senior adviser on social and behavioral sciences, to a university professor with the request that it be distributed to people interested in joining the team. The idea is that the team would "experiment" with various techniques, with the goal of tweaking behavior so people do everything from saving more for retirement to saving more in energy costs.

So we now get to deal with increased mind games from the .gov

I am pretty sure that Madison Avenue and Corporate America marketing departments can school the government on this.

I'm too old and stubborn to be at risk but I worry about everybody else.

I think they forget the essential element of being American. The more you get told to do something, the more likely you are to do the opposite. Good luck!

Heinlein used that kind of stuff in his tales.
Semantics, emotionaly charged words and phrases, planted stories with subtle slants.
Average Joe and Jane ain't too bright. Doesn't take too much to push "the public" in the right  desired direction.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I just finished reading a very influential book by the title of "Thinking Fast, Thinking Slow".

The author won a noble prize in economics for his work that is summarized in the book.

Government using the insights him and his partner revealed was mentioned in the book. As a matter of fact governments have been using " social science" to manipulate us for a very long time.

The book was a bit of a slog to get through, yet was terribly interesting.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
