Not good news, I hope they can contain it. Any threat to our food supply is a big deal in my mind.

And any threat to the bacon supply is an extra big deal.

This is what happens when a few players decide to make a standard pig for production. Not a lot of genetic variability in the pink confinement pigs.

As if we need a virus to make the pigs crap more than they already do. Ever been downwind of a pig crap containment pond.  [barf]

But in reality, this is serious, the price of pork (the affordable white meat) will continue to climb as it has been doing recently.

It nearly always seems to be a bad idea to feed animals food made from their own species.

Combined with containment factory production I'm surprised something like this hasn't happened already.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Remember a couple years back when Michigan was killing all pigs of a different color?
