Wow, this is depressing.  I certainly know how terrible I would feel if I could not work or could not find a job.

Yeah. It's that white privilege that made it take almost two years to find a job that was in the range of the one I lost to a RIF. I did, however, learn that white privilege is helpful in getting you into long lines at the plasma donation center, raising your blood pressure as you try to squeeze a dime out of every nickel, and making people hiring for menial positions tell you you're over-qualified when all you want is a damn job.
