  • I spent a week in that town one night....
Turns out that all the dire predictions about the sequester are failing to materialize.  (except White House Tours).  When given no options the bureaucrats can prioritize spending.  Who knew?   ;/ ;/

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

I have reached a conclusion regarding every member of this forum.
I no longer respect any of you. I hope the following offends you as much as this thread has offended me:
You are all awful people. I mean this *expletive deleted*ing seriously.

My observations so far. The little guy is getting screwed. I work with one reservist who is a contractor on the other side, his 20% furlough paycut hit his bottom lone enough where he dropped the health insurance he was buying.

On base the grass is infrequently mowed. Except the golf course... Yet contracts that were probably in the pipeline are allowed to proceed, essential stuff like replacing the mini-mart parking lot or regrading the athletic field.

I see normal squadrons with barrier paper in the canopys, jets closed up and flown once a month. Meanwhile my unit is bugging me to come down because we have extra drill money, extra ADT money.

If a 2% cut has to be taken over half a fiscal year, just take 4% across the board and be done with it, anything else is political BS.

I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.

In the southeast US (my AO) Army Reserve maintenance has been cut by 20%.

OPTEMPO has not changed.
