I was rather WTF... until I heard the substantial (head)wind noise in the microphone.  Then what I was seeing made sense.

However, that doesn't detract from the skill on display there.
I promise not to duck.

That reminds me of my Aces High (MMO combat flight simulator) days.  I got rather good at landing a shot up Zeke on a turning CV.  It was tons of fun when the conn tower was on fire and the ship was turning sharply to starboard.

That's the Valdez airshow. I've been several times there's always a head wind.

I can't find the video but my favorite STOL landing is the one where the pilot comes in at a beach and drags the tailwheel in the water for about 50 feet. Pulls enough speed off that the mains bounce once right at the water's edge and then stop.

Not really STOL in this sense but Fat Albert was at my field today. That ridiculous climb-out is always impressive.

I thought the AV-8B set the record at zero ft.?
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Next up they need to do a STOL competition where they don't land but get a passenger to step out at a certain spot.

On the landing it looked like he had to hit the brakes to keep the wind from blowing it backwards.

It takes a little headwind to do a STOL right.
