I'm 45% Lithuanian Jew, and SWMBO is ~50% Lithuanian. Her surname is Pinkham, and soon after we started dating she discovered that it was originally Pinkevicius. I speculated that the -vicius suffix was the same as the Jewish suffix -witz, meaning "son of," which I also have in my surname. A cursory internet search revealed that I was right. So we wonder if our great grandparents lived near each other... a question which may never be answered.
