LOL; thanks for the concern BSL; I'm fine.

Magnitude 5.8, about 50 miles away from me...I would have sworn it was closer.

5.8, about 7 miles deep, closer to LA.

Wow, if LA gets a bigger one now, that'd be interesting, in a "what would looters do" sort of way. Not a good interesting.

Is the news there now going to show the same security camera video of stuff falling off shelves for the next month?

Nah, just wall to wall reports of people calling in with their BIG STORIES about where they were and what they were doing.  Then the obligatory news crew at CalTech and the news conference with Dr. Kate Hutton saying the exact same thing she has said for the other thousand quakes.

Epicenter was in Chino Hills about 20 miles from me.  No big deal.

One news radio station had a reporter in a Los Angeles City Council budget hearing.  All you could hear was one loud mouth guy saying, YEP, ITS A QUAKE!  WE GOT A QUAKE HERE!  YEP, ITS A QUAKE!  WE GOT A QUAKE HERE!  Over and over and over!  Way to panic, Mr. Fearless Leader!

Hilarious!

Well, if you weren't taking your sweet time getting out of there, I wouldn't have to do preventative maintenance on it.
