Title: Russian Reporterettes skip safety briefings, almost get decapitated.

You want a safety briefing ?!?!?!  In Russia, safety briefing is "Don't be Stupid."

That is the pilot's fault, not the reporter's.   The pilot cut it too close.

Meh.

Much ado about nothing/clickbait. The TU-160 wing is [looks at airshow pictures of people walking by them] like 15-20 ft in the air unloaded.  She had plenty of room.  The MI-24 was a closer, but still feet away, at least, and had just taken off so was going pretty slow.  The flybys were well above her.

American safety standards aren't everyone's, and while we tend to have pretty good "but nobody died" records we also tend to be *very* conservative about things like industrial and military safety.

I'd assume that the bigwigs in both the military and news wanted a cool shot, told the pilots to get a little close but not hit her, and they did just that.

*expletive deleted*ing clickbait.  I see no near death experiences.

The "reporter" in the 2nd video seem to appear to be just a wee bit over the top excited didn't she?

This.

Reporter was standing perfectly still, probably what she'd been told to do. Pilot tries to get all pilot-ey and buzz her, getting way to close for comfort.

Gotta give her kudos. If someone had unexpectedly buzzed me that close there wouldn't be a pause, then a continued report. There would be a long string of un-publishable language followed by a pissed off fat guy pummeling a dumbass hotshot helicopter pilot.

Perspective can be messed with.  I'm reminded of the Space Mountain ride where there's points where you're thinking "We're going to hit it!" then after you pass you realize that you never got closer than 20 feet.

Big planes are so big that without the clues from stereoscopic vision that we can be tricked into thinking the plane is smaller, therefore closer, than it really is.  And the woman be far enough from it that without a fubar that is as likely to kill the occupants of the plane as her, won't every come close enough to be a danger.

Seen a lot closer, but at least the reporter was cute.

Ray Hanna cut this one pretty close.
