Larry Correia mentioned this gun on FB today, which led me down a rabbit hole.  TL:DR it's a 9mm 2011 that takes full size Glock mags.

It's also SUPER configurable, and the website has a really cool virtual gun builder.

This kinda peaked my interest as I wanted to try a 2011 out for a while now, and here I could do it without buying an extra $500 in magazines.

I wish that had happened to me.  It worked fine in Brave, and I have a very nice Coyote and Smoke two tone with a threaded barrel built.

Brave wasn't one of the browsers I tried. Now I'll be sure not to try it.

It doesn't surprise me if I encounter some glitches with Waterfox, but my Firefox is up to date and this is the first site that has hiccuped using Firefox.

I continue to be interested in a high cap 9mm 1911 (2011) for carry, but most of them seem to be pretty ginormous, with big mag wells, etc. Of course Wilson has good options, but they are more expensive than this one.

Running a 2011 without locking yourself into semi-finicky mags that cost $60-$150 a piece.  That's the whole point.  The extreme customization is nice, but the point is cheap reliable mags in a 2011.

Modern iteration of the 1911.  Double stack mag configuration for higher capacity, while maintaining the controls and most of the ergonomics of the 1911platform.

Strictly speaking a 2011 is a trademarked name for a series of guns that were made by STI, and then Stacatto.  The OG 2011's had a modular metal frame, polymer grip, and run mostly 1911 fire controls and top ends.  They also run doublestack mags.

Like "Walkman" the term "2011" is kinda shorthand for a doublestack 1911, which are pretty popular with gun-gamers, and run and gunners because they tend to shoot very accurately, quickly. The "Entry Level" type is something like Springfield's DS Prodigy at ~$1500ish, while Stacatto's go from $2k-$4k, and the really nice ones like Atlas Gunworks or TTi Sand Vipers get to the $6k-$7k.

That would be a great hunting sidearm.  Legal for a coup d’grace on a wounded deer or elk, and plenty of power to fend off any lower 48 critter trying to steal your kill.
