In case you're wondering in what way Tookie could have conceivably helped children, the answer is: he wrote some children's books about gangs. Never mind that the books were most likely ghostwritten by his "co-author" and that his bestselling title sold a whopping 330 copies. That didn't stop him from getting repeatedly nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Nearby, a group of young women performed what has got to be the most inappropriate spectacle ever at an execution: an explicit song-and-dance routine about orgasms.  I didn't record the song, but the lyrics went something like, "We use these hands to touch our clits; we like to come, that's no *expletive deleted*it!" I am not kidding. They did this for several minutes. I've seen them do a similar routine at other protests, but I never imagined they'd do it here.

Moonbat is a political epithet coined in 2002 by Perry de Havilland of "The Libertarian Samizdata," a libertarian weblog. It was originally a play on the last name of George Monbiot, a columnist for The Guardian. The term also evokes the traditional association between the moon and insanity. It now enjoys great currency in the conservative and libertarian blogosphere as an all-purpose insult for modern liberals, peace protestors, and other ideological opponents. It is similar to the epithets Feminazi or Idiotarian.

According to de Havilland, a moonbat is "someone on the extreme edge of whatever their -ism happens to be." Adriana Cronin defines the term as "someone who sacrifices sanity for the sake of consistency." This term has long been used to describe protesters on the political Left, and is sometimes used to describe protesters on the political Right, although modern usage generally ascribes the epithet Wingnut to those on the far right.

Moonbat is frequently used to describe those who believe in conspiracy theories. Examples include those who believe that the terrorist attacks of 9/11 were engineered by George W. Bush, or that the US invaded Iraq to drive up oil prices or under the directions of Israel (neither of which are positions likely to be held by George Monbiot himself).

You guys forget--it is far more fun to protest than study for your finals.  These protests are not meant to accomplish anything they are cultural gatherings for the moonbats.  Sort of like gun shows for us.
