“Our results are striking and sobering. They suggest that public opposition to any further migration from predominantly Muslim states is by no means confined to Trump’s electorate in the US but is fairly widespread,” experts at the think tank concluded.

Hmmm . . . and what do you suppose caused that opposition?

Quote
While only 47 percent in the U.K. agreed with that statement, and 41 percent in Spain, in other countries, strong majorities backed a ban, with numbers as high as 71 percent in Poland and 65 percent in Austria.
...
However, 53 percent support the measure in Germany
...
In France, 61 percent of respondents agreed with the measure
...
Socialist President Francois Hollande has seen his approval ratings dip to as low as four percent, in part due to his support of Merkel’s refugee policies.
...
The poll also shows 51 percent support for the measure in Italy ...

It will be interesting to watch the effect this sentiment has on elections.  Merkel and Hollande appear to be in real trouble.

And I'd bet that number is Germany is much higher... "Hi, I'm a strange person calling to get your opinion on immigration.  Do you favor open borders or are you a neo-Nazi?"

There are supposed to be elections in Germany this fall.  Smart money is on the CSU/CPD taking a 2014-US-Democrats scale shellacking and the SPD gaining enough seats to form a government on their own without the aid of any of the smaller parties.   And all they have to keep their pieholes closed.

I'm trying to develop a one-sentence analogy here.  Best I can do is "Trump made the kid pull his finger out of the leaking political correctness dam."

Gotta work on that one.
