Not long ago, I made a pitiful attempt to put into words what Hendrix's guitar playing meant to us wannabe guitarists.

This guy says (admittedly, with much hyperbole and verbosity) what I was trying to get across:

Thanks Fig!

I was listening to a Radio Show, and various comments were made about the Artists of Yesteryear. How musicians of old are better than today. Robert Johnson, Les Paul, Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana ( refrence to he was "great before he got good") and so many Artists as well.

I heard again the comment I have heard since the first time I heard Jimi Hendrix.  I grew up in this era - what a time it was!

"Is Jimi Hendrix Robert Johnson re-incarnated?
Was another deal made with the Devil?
We will see Robert or Jimi again"?

Hmmm...that was good.

To me it rings like passion. It was in his veins. He was merely a shell for something much greater. As chaotic as some of his music was, it had feeling and depth. Every note was born of blood, sweat and tears.

...now where did I put that CD?

I really feel that SRV had passion like that. Just a different groove.

The Jimi Hendrix section in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is worth traveling to Cleveland for.

Does anyone have the CD Jimi Hendrix Experience, smash hits? If you do, pop it in your DVD player and enjoy. Talk about being experienced....

I'll second that.  Both tapped into the same muse, IMO.
