If the article is accurate, Putin just banned VPN use in Russia. Sadly, I could see our Congress do the same thing under any number of presidents past, present and future, party affiliation aside. "It's for your safety!" "If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear!"

Considering that the Russian government pays trolls to post pro-Russia propaganda, and has strong penalties for NOT using a VPN while doing so...

I guess they realize how much it has done for them, so they don't want others to do the same.
