Motorcycle folks - what do you think of this?
« on: April 01, 2013, 02:45:31 PM »
I've been looking at this on and off and musing.

It seems like a nice thing to have for around town, especially in the lightweight variant. Doesn't seem all that expensive, either.  I'm trying to decide how tempted I am going to be to not wear this if I had it.
Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

It looks like the German version of Draggin Jeans and all the other kevlar stuff they sell.  I wear mine quite a bit.  Road rash from a bicycle is very painful, I can't imagine how much worse it would be going down on a motorcycle doing 60 or so.

I wouldn't wear it.

Too hot most of the time here in AZ for long johns.

And when it's cold enough for that, then it's cold enough for a set of heavier over-pants, like these:

And then a similarly constructed coat.

I've got a pair of those for when it drops below about 40-50 degrees.  Very nice.  Put those on over the jeans, cuts down on wind chill quite a bit.  Take them off when I get to work, and look normal and don't have long johns on under my clothes to make me sweat in the office.

I sure like my Firstgear HT air overpants.  I would check the outlet sites for current pricing.
