Appears the legislature may have enough votes to over ride it though.

Huh.  Going through the article it mentioned that they were going to expand the castle doctrine to include guests, and mentioned a babysitter.

Wouldn't a paid babysitter be at her 'place of work', and thus able to defend herself that way?

The alternative, of course, is that there are kids in the house who's safety she is responsible for.  Defending them should be first priority.

It's possible. The legislature overrode a gun veto two or three years ago.
