I've checked several different schematics.  Where is this spare disconnector you need a spring for?  I can't seem to find it.  :P

(You know somebody had to say it.  I looked on the bulliten board and saw it was my turn.)

Not me, but you get a Gold Star for the day for correct use of the verb  =)

Prevents the disconnector from disconnecting.

Which in turn would allow the hammer to follow the bolt forward after chambering a round...

So the hammer is following the bolt forward, and the bolt body at the hammer end is at least keeping the firing pin from getting a full thwack.

I'd look at the primer of the chambered round for a slight firing pin dent, anyway.   ;)

Yep. Light strike

Firing full auto in that way, if it happened, would be dangerous. Real full auto AKs have a number of differences that ensure the thing won't fire out of battery. This ak, if that happened, could.

I had an SKS burn me real bad going full auto.

The thing that makes me nervous is if the firing pin got jammed in the bolt.  =|

You pull back the bolt and release it, and the gun dumps the whole mag  :O

I shake it fore and aft so I can hear the pin rattle back and forth.

That's a problem on SKSs when dirty. That's why I liked my Russian. Had the retaining spring

I guess in the early 50s they got rid of that.

Dunno if he makes 'em for AKs.  Or if anyone does.
