RIP Pete Postlethwaite
« on: January 03, 2011, 10:35:25 AM »
Pete Postlethwaite passed after a long battle with cancer.  You may not remember his name but it's hard to forget his face.  Like the late Robert Preston he's one of those actors you instantly recognized and, no matter what the character, abosolutely dominated the scene every time he appeared.

Ten years ago I worked as a Limo driver for the
Monte Carlo TV Festival and drove him from his hotel to the palace.

He read a book about gardening and was the nicest guy.
I remember him from Usual suspects and just saw him in Jurassic Parc. RIP

I remember him most from In the Name of the Father.  He was great in a great movie.

Brassed Off, The Shipping News, The Usual Suspects, Sharpe's Company/Enemy, and so many others. Memorable performances even in forgettable films.

Never heard of him or seen his face before.  But then again I haven't watched a recent movie in 20 years.  I'll take the Classics for $200 please.

This guy was a classic. You must see The Usual Suspects.

I also really liked him as Romeo's priest.

Look down through the list of films he was in, he may never have been a Hollywood leading man, but he was in some notable films.

There are many worse places on this earth to spend your final days than Shropshire, probably my third favourite county after Devon and Cornwall and they pip it because of the coast.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also
