ABC Radio Networks Statement on the Passing of Paul Harvey
Saturday February 28, 8:34 pm ET

DALLAS, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement from Jim Robinson, President of ABC Radio Networks, on the passing of Paul Harvey:

Paul Harvey was one of the most gifted and beloved broadcasters in our nation's history. As he delivered the news each day with his own unique style and commentary, his voice became a trusted friend in American households. His career in radio spanned more than seven decades, during which time countless millions of listeners were both informed and entertained by his "News & Comment" and "Rest of the Story" features. Even after the passing of his loving wife Angel in May 2008, Paul would not slip quietly into retirement as he continued to take the microphone and reach out to his audience. We will miss our dear friend tremendously and are grateful for the many years we were so fortunate to have known him. Our thoughts and prayers are now with his son Paul Jr. and the rest of the Harvey family.

I hated his show with a passion, always turned the channel.
Avoided the stations that had it.

I always enjoyed listening to Paul Harvey.  Another good one gone.  Rest in Peace, Mr. Harvey.

...he was a good 'un.....I'll miss him.....

Vaya con Dios.......and Good Day......  =)

My dad has a copy of his "For What it's Worth". Lots of funny stories. For instance, in a police blotter: a Burger King had been robbed...by a guy named Ronald McDonald.

I always liked listening to Paul Harvey.

I also saw that Wendy Richard, who played Miss Brahms on Are You Being Served?, passed on Thursday.

Mr. Harvey was the antithesis of the old adage that only the good die young.

Another one of the good guys is gone.  RIP, Mr. Harvey.

I'm guessing it will be Ed McMahon.  Unfortunately, he is in the hospital right now, in a very bad way.  He's 85 years old, pneumonia and bone cancer.  His interaction with the late Johnny Carson as his sidekick on the Tonight Show was often entertaining.

"Here's Johnny!"

Oh, yeah. I miss that big laugh. Anybody else remember when Ed had hernia surgery, and made the mistake of telling Johnny it hurt to laugh?  :O

Heard that on the news last night.  Grew up listening to him, often three times a day in summer when an umbrella top and a scratchy AM radio mounted on the tractor fender was all you had to keep you sane.

Good Day, Paul.  RIP.

No idea who this is.
A generational divide has been breached.  Paul Harvey is one the few true class acts in public life.  A colossus in his professional life and a humble man in private life.

Ummm, the guy who wrote that is in his 50's. I'm 25 and knew who he was. Not sure "generational gap" is applicable.....

Or maybe Family Guy...
