Do opera singers use mikes now? I haven't been to an opera for more than 30 years.
dunno, never been to one. but i guaranty they use mics to record.
so it's the only way i have heard one.
oh and remember the buildings used for such things
amplify sound on there own.

It also means that the audience doesn't have to look at 300 pound singers with chests the size of oil barrels.
