My Grandpa, on my Mother's side, fought in France in the Great War.  He and I are the only members of our family to have served in a combat arena.  I am a Vietnam vet.  I remember back in the 50s when the last Civil War vet died......chris3

Mabs sure you weren't dreaming once again of going to Tailand?
I don't really understand.  When have I ever talked about dreaming about a misspelled Thailand?  What does Thailand have to do with retired Vietnamese pilots? =\

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

I was kind of busy during the '90s what with raising kids, buying a house and working. Other than inane and vapid TV programming, Clinton scandals and the AWB what else was there?

A highly controversial presidential election (2000).

The World Wide Web (whatever that is) was launched in 1991.

Coup attempt against Gorbachev.

The 1994 Republican Revolution.

Blackhawk Down.

Rwandan Genocide.

USS Cole bombing.

I could add the European Union being established by the Maastricht Treaty. But if it ends up dying before its 20th birthday, maybe the EU is not that significant a story, after all.

Sure, I knew about all that trivial crap, but did anything important happen?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Well, it was the decade in which the .40 caliber Glock became the go-to duty weapon for police, right? Or if you want something really important, it was the decade when Eminem became famous.

When did that happen?
