President Obama Booked On The View, Returns To ABC Next Week (TVNewser)
President Obama will be making his second appearance on ABC in as many weeks next Tuesday, though this time it won't be for ABC News. Obama will be a guest on the ABC daytime program The View. The interview will be taped Monday as part of the show's "Red, White & View" campaign. Also, it's sweeps. CNN / Political Ticker Obama planned to announce his support for same-sex marriage during an appearance on ABC's The View next week, before comments Sunday by Vice President Joe Biden caused a timeline change, a top Democrat told CNN.

He's narrowcasting. This time around he has to try and scrimp and scrape together a plurality of a lot of disparate vaguely leftist interests.

His "new" stance on gay marriage is one example. Turning Biden's gaffe of lemons into lemonade (or so they think) by trying to support gay marriage, without actually DOING anything about it, since there's no bills, no SCOTUS cases (nor appointments he could make right now to tip the balance either) which is carefully balanced out so that he can try and curry favor with gays, but not turn off blacks or other minorities who are extremely anti-gay marriage.

Going on The View is just more wet finger in the wind campaigning to try and shore up some support with women.
